Frosted Glass Block Shower Adds Privacy

Frosted Glass Block Shower Adds Privacy

Having a frosted glass block shower adds privacy, instead of hiring professionals to do this job, you can easily do it yourself. Glass blocks can be frosted or enhance their visual appeal, and you can give them a unique appearance by frosting themselves. For frosted glass blocks, sandblasting is the most common choice, but you can also use acid corrosion, frosted glass film, or frosted window paint to frosted glass blocks. Doing so can save a lot of money and add your custom frosted glass.

Step 1: Preparation

Firstly, you need to decide which method you will use for a glass block frost shower. After making this decision, purchase the required frosting materials from any home improvement store. All products that require frosting are easy to obtain, and you don't need to work hard to find them.

Next, place the long and wide newspaper or any old cloth away from household items or other important items. Be sure to place the newspaper on a hard surface. Before frosting the glass blocks, make sure they are clean and dry. To protect the glass block from any unwanted damage, you can stick tape to the edges of the glass block.

Step 2: Frost Spray Painting

Before you start frosting the glass block with frost paint, make sure you have taken sufficient protective measures. Please make sure to apply paint on the outer side of the glass brick to avoid damage to the paint surface due to continuous contact with water and moisture on the inner side of the glass brick. Apply a thin layer of paint to the glass block, then apply it to the laid newspaper and spray it with a spray can. Ensure that the layers are uniform and that you have not applied too much paint in specific areas. Allow the building blocks to dry for 24 hours before reinstalling them.

Step 3: Etching Acid

If you plan to frost the glass block with etching acid, be sure to take the necessary precautions. Keep children and pets away from areas where etching acid is used. The advantage of using etching acid is that you can make patterns and frost a part of the glass block to create a design.

You need to use a mold to achieve this. Apply frost to the mold to ensure that it does not move on the glass surface. Leave the frost on the glass surface for the time specified by the manufacturer. After a time, rinse the glass block with clean water to remove frost. When doing so, make sure you take appropriate hand protection measures. After removing the frost, dry the glass block in the air and reinstall it.
